Stuffed Pumpkin French Toast


2 loaves Chabaso Pumpkin Bread, sliced length-wise

1 apple sliced

8 oz  sliced brie cheese

1 cup whole milk

1 egg

2 tbsp honey

¼ tsp cinnamon

1/8 tsp nutmeg

4 tbsp soft butter


Lay out half the bread slices.  Layer each with  apple and brie slices.  Top with the second slice of bread.  Set aside until ready to use.  Whisk eggs and milk together.  Add cinnamon, nutmeg and honey and whisk until they are incorporated.

Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Drop 1 tbsp of butter into the pan.  When it is melted, dip the stuffed bread in the egg milk and carefully lay it into the pan.  Cook each side until golden brown and serve with maple syrup (and maybe a cup of hot apple cider)
