Homestyle French Toast

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup, plus more for topping

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 

  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 

  • Nonstick cooking spray 

  • 1 Chabaso Cranberry Pecan loaf, cut into thick slices 

  • Favorite fruit & whipped topping for garnish 

Instructions

1.Wash hands with soap and water.

2. Gently rub produce under cold running water.

3. Mix maple syrup. almond milk. cinnamon, and vanilla in a large, shallow dish. Place in the fridge to activate for 10-20 minutes.

4. Preheat griddle to medium heat (350F degrees) and grease with nonstick cooking spray.

5. Dip each slice of bread in the batter for about 20 seconds on each side [if your batter is too thick, thin with a bit of almond milk].

6. Place on griddle and cook until golden brown on the underside. Carefully flip and cook until the other side is golden brown as well - 3-4 minutes.

7. Top with desired toppings and enjoy!

Note: We went with a whipped topping, fruit. and maple syrup.
